Accepting Rodimus Prime

This group is dedicated to G1 Transformers fans. All G1 art is accepted here (and wanted!)...
This group's initial purpose... Is to help people (particularly of the original Transformers Generation) accept Hot-Rod/Rodimus Prime.
There has been a lot of hatred toward the Autobot, due to his--- connection in Optimus's death... But think about that scene, as painful as it is. Remember Hot-Rod's reaction to his mistake. The shear look of horror on his face--- the deep emotion in his voice, as he asked for forgiveness... He made a mistake that could never be undone--- and he payed for that mistake through his guilt for the rest of his days. Imagine, causing the death of your hero, then taking his place! Having to bear the burden of Leadership would be difficult enough already... But then doing so with the weight of such a death on your shoulders!
Why blame someone indefinitely on a mistake? A mistake they feel a hundred times more than anyone else, and would do anything to take back?
By blaming him, wouldn't one be contradicting everything Optimus believed in? Every decision of the leader proved how forgiving he was. There were several cases in which characters doubted him--- but always he prevailed--- always he forgave!
He taught of strength, kindness, and wisdom above all else. He was a perfect leader... And we ALL miss him...
But maybe it's time to leave some events to the past. Time to forgive a long condemned Autobot. An Autobot who does everything in his power to redeem himself, to make things right.
It's what Opitimus would want...
Why throw away everything one learned from him, holding a bitter grudge against his successor? Follow the Prime example, and forgive. You'll find a new friend waiting for you... One long waiting for acceptance.
The past is in the past--- the time is now.

Yep. It's been 30 years now since the Transformers Movie came out. 30 years since we first saw a youthful Hotrod embark on his journey to become Rodimus Prime...
Sharing in a remembrance, as other groups are doing/have done, let's reflect on a few questions:

-What is your favorite memory of this Movie (scene, time watching it, reactions, etc)?

-What is your favorite line (of dialogue)?

-When was it that you began to admire Hotrod/Rodimus Prime (was it due to this Movie, or did it come at a later time? S3? or maybe even the comics?)?

I've watched this Movie countless times, and frankly it's still as enjoyable as the day I first watched it. I know every scene, most of the lines, all the events like the back of my hand --- and still, it's one of the greatest movies of all time to me. I never tire of it's charm. Never grow board of the adventure. Never stop loving every single second of it --- laughing, or crying, or staring in awe at every detail.
The animation. The music. The characters. The story-line. The dialogue. Every single aspect. Absolutely perfect in it's own right. The heart and soul of the Transformers franchise, what spawned everything that was to come afterwards... A legend, engrained into each fan's memory -- for better or for worse.

It's a very good piece.
I like everything about it. The glow on his body. The flames. The truck. The colors. The face --- a perfect likeness.
He looks totally awesome.
